Build and preview

Preview a game

The preview runs your working game so you can test changes before committing a version for other players.

The preview toolbar includes restart, player-view, and checkpoint controls. Available controls depend on the framework.

Try a change

  1. Open the game's preview and choose a valid player count. Done when the initial position appears.
  2. Change the viewed player, or choose the spectator view when available. Done when you have checked what each viewer is allowed to see.
  3. Try a phone-sized viewport as well as a wider one. Play a complete turn. Done when the controls fit and the game advances correctly.
  4. Restart when you need a fresh position. Review any rebuild options offered after editing. Done when the preview reflects the saved source.

Framework differences

TypeScript previews support named checkpoints. Framework preview games use a local replay record and their own restart and rebuild controls. Follow-active-player controls change which seat you view; they do not replace testing hidden information from each seat.

Previewing does not publish or commit a game.
